Best AI trip planners, compared
“Best” is the way people search, not a claim we make. This page does not rank anyone: it lays Ollin, Mindtrip, Wanderlog, TripIt, Layla and Google travel tools side by side on the features you can check, and where a product’s own page does not say, the cell says so.
Read October 14, 2026 from each product’s own public pages. Prices and features change. Ollin is our product, so read its column with that in mind.

Where Ollin falls short
- Ollin has no in-app booking. Booking is affiliate links out to partner sites; Mindtrip, by its own site, lets you book directly on Mindtrip.
- Offline access is a Pro feature, so the free plan does not save whole trips offline.
- The free plan covers up to 15 travelers on a trip; a larger party needs a paid plan.
- Ollin does not match TripIt's confirmation parsing across a very wide range of booking types, which TripIt has built over many years.
Which fits whom
- A group deciding together. Ollin is built around the group: ranked-choice picks, expense splitting and room assignments sit beside the itinerary. Wanderlog and Mindtrip also describe shared editing on their own pages.
- Booking inside the app. Mindtrip's site says you can book directly on Mindtrip. Ollin does not book in-app; it links out to partners.
- Trips you have already booked. TripIt describes organizing the plans you already have into one itinerary. Ollin plans the trip first and then organizes it.
- Flight price tracking. Google's help page describes tracking prices for specific flights, routes and dates, with email updates.
- Budgeting and offline plans in one app. Wanderlog's pages describe a budgeting tool that splits expenses, offline plans and group editing; check its own site for which plan includes what.
What each product is
- Mindtrip. An AI travel assistant whose site says you can “book directly on Mindtrip or have your travel assistant handle the details”.
- Wanderlog. A trip planner with an AI planner page, a budgeting tool and iOS and Android apps.
- TripIt. An organizer: its own pricing page frames it as keeping the plans you already have in one itinerary.
- Layla. An AI trip planner whose App Store listing says you can “discover, plan, and book amazing trips”.
- Google travel tools. Google Flights, Hotels, Trips and Maps. The pages we could read describe flight price tracking and a trip timeline, not an AI itinerary planner.

Questions
- Which is the best AI trip planner?
- This page does not rank them: that depends on whether you need group voting, expense splitting, offline access, in-app booking or a low price, and the table shows what each product's own page says about each. Where a page does not say, the cell says so.
- Is there a free AI trip planner?
- Several list a free tier: Mindtrip is listed as free on the App Store, Wanderlog and Layla are free to download with paid plans, and TripIt has a free tier. Ollin is free for up to 15 travelers on a trip, including group planning and expense splitting. What each free tier limits is stated in the table only where the product's page says it.
- Which AI trip planner works for groups?
- Ollin offers a shared plan, ranked-choice group picks and expense splitting. Mindtrip's App Store listing describes group chats and shared itineraries you edit together, and Wanderlog's page describes inviting trip mates to plan together and a budgeting tool that splits expenses.
- Does Ollin book flights and hotels?
- No. Ollin does not book in-app. It links out to booking partners at the partner's own price, you complete the booking on the partner's site, and Ollin may earn a commission from the partner.
